James M. Harlan, DDS, MD

James Harlan attended Deer Creek High School, where he met his future wife, Megan, whom he married in 2007. He went on to major in biology, graduating with honors at Oklahoma State University in 2008. He then started dental school at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry, graduating in 2012. Following a one year internship at the Oral Surgical Institute in Nashville, TN, he moved his growing family to Kentucky to begin his residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Louisville. James attended a dual-degree residency program, in which he also attended medical school, graduating from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 2016. During residency, he received extensive training in facial trauma, orthognathic surgery, oral pathology, dental implants, dentoalveolar surgery, and anesthesia. 

After completing his residency training in June 2019, James and Megan moved back to Oklahoma with their children Mary Grace, Elizabeth, and David. James joined his father’s practice in July 2019, and is also on staff at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

James and Megan are members of St. Monica Catholic Church in Edmond, OK, where James has served in the choir as pianist and organist since 1999.
